Apple And Cinnamon Sponge Dessert

Ingredientes

  • 4 x apples, Granny Smith
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1/2 c. sugar (caster)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon, grnd
  • 100 gm butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar (caster)
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 1/4 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 1/4 c. flour, plain
  • 2 tsp baking pwdr
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla essence

Direcciones

  1. Peel, core and slice apples 5mm.
  2. Place the apples in a saucepan with the 1/2 c. sugar, cinnamon and the water. Cover and cook gently for 5 min till tender. Pour the warm apples into a 20cm pie dish and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  3. Cake Mix:Sift the flour, baking pwdr and salt together.
  4. Beat the butter and sugar in mixer till creamed, add in the Large eggs one at a time, then 1 Tblsp of the flour, the lowfat milk and vanilla. Mix in the remaining flour by hand without losing volume in the mix.
  5. Pour over the Warm apples and spread the mix proportionately.
  6. (it's important which the apples are warm when the cake mix goes in)
  7. Bake at 190C/380F for 30-35 min till set and lightly coloured.
  8. Serve with custard and cream.
  9. A quick and easy dessert.
