"Aunt Etta's" Egg Bread

Ingredientes

  • 2 packets dry yeast
  • 2 c. hot water
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 3 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 7 1/2 to 8 c. flour

Direcciones

  1. Soften yeast in warm water. Add in sugar, salt and oil. Blend in large eggs and 3 cups flour. Beat well. Add in 4 1/2 to 5 cups of flour gradually.Knead on lightly floured surface till smooth and satiny (10 min). Place in greased bowl, cover, let rise till doubled (1+ hour). Divide dough in half. Divide each half into three parts and roll into strips. Braid strips together, seal ends, place in well-greased bread pans. Let rise till doubled (45 min). Brush with whipped egg white. Bake in 375 degree oven for 40 to 45 min. 2 loaves.
