Ingredientes

  • 1 1/2 c. Unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking pwdr
  • 1/2 c. Butter or possibly margarine, softened
  • 1 c. Granulated sugar
  • 2 x Egg yolks
  • 2 Tbsp. Lowfat milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 x Egg whites
  • 1 c. Light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 c. Coarsely minced walnuts

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly grease 9-by-9-by-2-inch baking pan.
  2. Sift flour with baking pwdr In medium bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, cream butter with granulated sugar and egg yolks, till light and fluffy.
  3. 3, At low speed, beat in flour mix, along with lowfat milk and vanilla, just till combined. Turn into prepared pan, spreading proportionately. Bake 20 min.
  4. In small bowl, heat egg whites, just till stiff. Gradually beat in brown sugar, then stir in nuts. Spread proportionately on top of hot crust. Bake 20 min longer, till puffed and lightly browned.
  5. Cut into 16 bars while still hot. Let cold completely in pan on wire rack.
  6. Makes 16.
