Falafel Balls In Spicy Tomato Sauce

Ingredientes

  • 1 x 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 c. vegetable broth
  • 1 sm onion, minced
  • 1 x jalapeno chili, seeded and chopped
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 1/3 c. falafel mix
  • 6 ounce soft tofu, liquid removed and mashed
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. minced parsley, plus for garnish
  • 1 x egg, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil

Direcciones

  1. For sauce: Combine first 6 ingredients in large, heavy pot; bring to a boil.
  2. Simmer uncovered for 15 min, stirring occasionally.
  3. For falafel balls: Preheat oven to 475 degrees. In medium bowl, mix falafel mix, tofu, water, parsley and egg with hands. Form into 1" balls. Place on lightly oiled baking sheet; bake for 8-10 min. Don't overcook or possibly falafel will dry out.
  4. When sauce is done, carefully loosen falafel from baking sheet and drop into simmering sauce. To serve, garnish with parsley.
  5. Makes 6 servings, 7 grams offat per serving.
