Fish in Soy Sauce gravy

This is a yummy fish cooked in sweet soy sauce that is to be eaten with plain white rice and mixed vegetables or omlette.

Ingredientes

  • Item 1:
  • 8-10 fish slices (black pomfret or king fish)
  • 1/2 tomato - sliced round
  • 4 tbsp of sweet soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • Item 2:
  • 1 onion
  • 2 clove of garlic
  • 2 inch ginger
  • 1 red chili & 1 green chili
  • Salt to taste

Direcciones

  1. Marinade the fish slices with salt, a pinch of turmeric powder and a teaspoon of chili powder.
  2. Pound Item 2 in a mortar & pestle.
  3. Fry the fish on both sides and keep aside.
  4. In a separate wok, heat oil and saute Item 2 and the 1/2 tomato for about 2-3minutes. Then add about 4 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1/2 cup of water.
  5. Add in the fishes, making sure the soy sauce mixture coats well and salt to taste. Let is simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with plain white rice coupled with stir-fry vegetables and omelete.
