Receta Grilled Pork Tenderloin, Spicy Rub; hot shopping
by Katie Zeller

Mon mari likes to keep lamb chops and beef steaks fairly simple…..

But I’m free do be creative with pork and chicken.

We won’t talk about the hated fish…..

For this easy grilled pork tenderloin I just made a simple rub, followed by an equally simple basting sauce.

Summer – and the cooking is easy.

Grilled Pork Tenderloin, Spicy Rub

Total time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients for rub and rub on pork.

Mix all ingredients for sauce.

Put pork on barbecue grill or in 400F oven for 25 – 30 minutes. Turn occasionally to brown on all sides.

Baste pork with sauce starting after it’s been cooking 15 minutes. Baste 2 – 3 times.

When you think pork is done slice into middle to check. Slightly pink is perfect.

Remove, slice and serve.

I had some fun yesterday.

Well, I’ve actually been having a lot of fun lately, with our guests, but they’re off finishing their vacation.

I was shopping at the Asian supermarket.

We’re going to Spain for our friend’s birthday in early July. (The friend that we got our dogs from).

He likes hot food. Most of the cooking he does is Indian or Thai and most of what he cooks is way too hot for me to eat.

Actually, he almost always forgets that I don’t eat hot food (he’s only known me for 15 years…) and I usually end up eating stinky cheeses, local sausage and crusty bread (which I love).

Anyway, since the Asian market carries Korean, Vietnamese, Thai and Indian foods as well as Chinese and Japanese there are a lot of really hot and really spicy sauces and condiments.

I never buy them.

Yesterday I did.

I’d been thinking about a present for him for weeks.

I had an epiphany: I would get him a basket of goodies from the Asian market.

I picked out the hottest, spiciest stuff I could find…..

Mon mari helped.

We have pickled bird’s eye peppers and wasabi peas and ginger pepper sauce and garlic hot sauce and hot pepper pastes and, and…..

I think he’ll be pleased….

I’ll let you know – but I will not taste!
