Receta In the Morning
by Marlow

A year ago, if you had told me that I would become a morning person, I would have laughed in your face! Well, maybe not “in your face” but I would have definitely laughed and then shrugged it off, because I had never been a morning person.

My bestie Alex can tell you, I rarely looked forward to waking up. When she and I would car pool to work together she got to see Morning Marlow in full effect. I wasn’t grumpy, just quiet. In actuality, I think I was probably sleeping with my eyes open.

But over the past year, I have slowly but surely taken control of my body clock and woken up earlier and earlier. I would read all these healthy living blogs, where they were getting more accomplished during 5:30 and 8:00am than I could get done in a day. I hated feeling like my life revolved around my job, and so I decided to try.

This morning I woke up on my own at 6:45, and even though my alarm was set for a full hour later, I decided to go ahead and shower. I felt rested and ready.

When I wake up early, it’s just me, Max, and the shadows of the morning. I love this time of the morning. It’s quiet and hopeful.

Twice a week, I wake up at 5:45 for my very part time job. And I’m sort of becoming addicted to my life at 6am. I’m wondering if I will eventually wake up around 6am, even when I’m not working that early.

PLUS waking up early gives me the time to make breakfast and blog about it!

Are you craving oats yet?
