Ingredientes

  • 2 c. macaroni
  • 1 c. cheese, grated
  • 1 Tbsp. parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. flour, plain
  • 1 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 x onions, medium
  • 1 tsp garlic, crushed
  • 1/10 tsp nutmeg salt, pepper
  • 1 x egg yolks
  • 1/4 c. cream

Direcciones

  1. Finely dice onion.
  2. Cook macaroni in boiling salted water till "al dente".
  3. Heat the butter in a saucepan and add in the flour, stirring with a wire whisk. Add in the lowfat milk, stirring rapidly with whisk. When blended and smooth, add in the onion, garlic, pepper and nutmeg. Simmer gently for 5 min stirring the bottom regularly to ensure it doesn't burn.
  4. Add in cooked macaroni and bring to boil.
  5. Remove from heat and whisk in combined egg yolk and cream. Sauce should be thick and creamy.
  6. Serve sprinkled with extra cheese and paprika.
