Microwave Basic Bread Pudding

Ingredientes

  • 4 c. bread cubes, lightly packed into c. (4 to 5 slices)
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 c. raisins (optional)

Direcciones

  1. Spread bread cubes evenly in an 8 inch round dish. If using raisins, sprinkle them evenly. Then sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and salt. Measure lowfat milk into 1 qt measuring cup. Add in butter. Place cup in microwave oven. Cook at High for 2 min, just till butter is melted and lowfat milk is slightly warm. Rapidly stir in large eggs with a fork, and mix well. Pour over bread cubes in dish. Place dish in microwave oven. Set at medium/defrost. Cook 9 to 12 min, giving dish 1/2 turn after 5 min. When cooked, center may still be slightly soft but will set up as you should let it stand a couple min. Serve warm or possibly cold.
