Ingredientes

  • 4CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
  • 2 TBSP BAKING POWDER
  • 1/2 TSP SALT
  • 1/2 CUP SHORTENING
  • 1/4 CUP BUTTER
  • 1-1-2 CUPS WHITE CHEDDAR CHEESE
  • 2-3 TSP COARSE BLACK PEPPER
  • 1 1/2 CUPS MILK
  • 1 EGG
  • 1 TSP WATER

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Lightly grease a large baking sheet
  3. set aside
  4. In a large bowl,stir together flour,baking powder,and salt
  5. Using a pastry blender,cut in shortening and butter until mixture resembles course crumbs
  6. Add cheese and pepper mix well
  7. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture ,add milk all at once stir till moistened
  8. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface
  9. Knead dough by folding and gently pressing dough for about 12 strokes until almost smooth
  10. Divide dough into a six inch square
  11. Using a sharp knife ,cut dough into 2 inch squares
  12. In a small bowl whisk egg and the water together
  13. Brush on tops of biscuits
  14. Place on baking sheet and bake till golden
  15. Place on a wire rack and serve warm .....YUMMY
