I grew up in the northwest with a large Italian family, so I LOVE most pasta dishes. However, I don't want to end up looking like most of my relatives, so I like to eat a lot of healthier Asian dishes. I love Asian vegetables and am still learning how to find/cook some of the more unusual ones. I usually make modifications to recipes after I cook them, because I find a lot of things too bland. Garlic, ginger, and crushed red pepper are things I frequently add to increase flavor. I try to avoid excess salt and oils and am not a fan of recipes that take a lot of preparation or cooking time. There are also some particular German and Scotch Irish dishes my mom/grandma used to make that I have to have about once a year. Besides cooking, I love to travel and learn new things. I'm happiest outdoors as long as I can stay warm.
