Dieting is my hobby - that said, I am on a perpetual search for real, filling, comfortable, and luscious food that is low carb and authentic. It's like looking for gold in a dust field.

My dad's garden-fresh corn & green beans with tender chicken-fried deer steaks or quail. His deer chili and stew are still my favorite winter foods.
My grandmothers - of course. From gooey white sugar cinnamon rolls and pan-fried chicken to chocolate gravy & biscuits and butter-drenched scrambled eggs, I experienced carb bliss from infancy.
Church potlucks and family reunions -creamy casseroles, Kraft Catalina-flavored taco salad, bacon-laden veggies, and lard-pastry encrusted pies & cobblers accompanied by homemade vanilla ice cream.
Then I experienced Indian diners and pubs in England - mmm, a little curry and/or coconut milk brings a whole new world of flavor.
