Fishermans Grotto Johannesburg - we
had the most fantastic eating experience here in 1993. We first thought we had come to the wrong address since we walked straight into a kitchen off the street but were then led down a narrow metal spiral staircase to the restaurant of no more than 20 simple tables.
There was a chef who had trained in Japan and she prepared Blue Marlin for us after discussing what we would eat and how it would be prepared around an old dusty oak table in the wine cellar. The wine guy advised us and he chose excellent choices making this a memory we have shared through the years with our friends. Unfortunately, the restaurant no longer exists.
