Translations, anyone?

Frank Fariello
Frank Fariello 03 de Febrero de 2011

As you know, the purpose of this group is to bring authentic Italian recipes to an English-speaking audience. One great way to do this would be to start translating the many Italian recipes on CES' Italian language site.

So, it would be great if those of us who are able would volunteer to translate some recipes! I have already started, with a recipe from one of our founding members, Chef Alessandro. I hope to contribute more translations as time allows. If anyone else has the time and inclination, that would be wonderful!

Tips for volunteer translators: CES does have a Google translator built it. That helps a lot by giving you a starting point but you really need to 'massage' the raw translation to be make it readable...

Besides the language itself, English speakers (or Americans at least) are not very comfortable working with Italian recipes without measurements and detailed instructions, so it would be ideal if you could 'fill in the blanks' where they may be missing in the original recipes. The original recipes often assume a lot of knowledge that American and other non-Italian cooks don't have...
