Cake Balls
If you ever have scraps of cake left... freeze them until you have emough to make cake balls. All of the Foodie Web Sites and Bakeries make them, and make alot of money on them, too. Easy to make. Put cake scraps and icing and even flavoring in the mixer. Mix until it has the consistency of a brownie. Form balls by hand about 1 1/2" round and put on a pan. Put an apple dowel in the center and freeze. Once solid dip in melted chocolate and serve. I get my apple dowels from www.kuddablekakes.com. They come in a 100 count. Everyone likes these.

I like this.I make my cake balls by mixing them by hand and genly forming them into balls. I also dip them into chocolate ganache but I do not freeze them. You can see this and all my recipes at my blog at http://www.coolmamablog.com
Sounds like a great idea, Cheri. I followed the link to kuddablekakes but didn't see any apple dowels for sale. I saw a set of color tubes, some cakes, some pillows, and a bunch of tips. Are they there and I just missed them? Or did they stop selling them?
Hi John, Sorry it took me so long to reply. Iam still figuring out how to navigate through this site. The web site is in the process of maintainence, I just checked, it should be back up in full force by the weekend. There are about 700 items that are not being shown at this time.
How do I link up to be a follower? I think that is like a friend on facebook, right? Every time that I try to click on your profile... my computer locks up! 3 times in a row. I have to keep rebooting. I am going to give my computer a "BOOT" if it keeps doing it. : )
I'll try again, I want to see some of your recipes. I haven't had time to post any of mine yet.
I had never heard of "cake balls" until now. What a great idea!! Thanks for sharing this. (Yes, I live in a fairly remote area, lol)
