I can't live without my Kitchenaide heavy duty mixer, I use it to mix all cookie dough, its awesome. In twenty years I have had only two of them...they are amazingly strong and durable. You also will need plenty of flavorings like almond, vanilla, lemon. Baking mini pans to make mini cookies that could be in holiday papers and so festive. You can also buy a cookie press from Amazon, it shapes them by battery power to make perfectly shaped trees, etc...hope that helps you. Happy baking...I have just posted 24 kinds of cookies on my post. Maybe you would enjoy reading through them....have a great holiday!

I don't use artificial flavorings so a heavy duty sharp grater is a must have for me....silipats, cookie cutters in fun shapes, a Madeleine mold pan, good cookie sheets without sides are great and I agree, I couldn't survive the kitchen w/o my Kitchen aide AND my folding table for extra space!!

One essential for me when making cookies is good parchment paper. I don't grease or spray my cookie sheets, ever. Every cookie that I've baked on parchment has slid off the sheet with no problem. It's great stuff!
