Eating to live.......Ditto!

Cindy L Grace
Cindy L Grace 15 de Agosto de 2009

I am on a mission right now on cooking healthy for my grandsons , husband, & family. We have been extremely blessed to have few to no health issues in the past, and now it's vital to make sure I cook healthy but tastful meals.
I appreciate any input that you can share my way, because like I have said in my profile, we love to eat, but I am turning out dishes with health tagged to it. Have a great evening.

Thanks, CIndy

Good Morning Cindy. As far as eating healthy. A local heart surgeon told us that meats like elk deer and buffalo a better than beef. These meat has very little to no colesterol and very little sat. fats. We also use red onions when possible because the are said to be better for us than yellow onions. I have been told the reds are better at helping prevent some kinds of onions. We all need to eat better because we like talking to you to much.

See ya Chris

I'll keep adding recipes to this group. Everything I've read indicates that eating tons of vegetables, fruits, beans & lentils, and whole grains is the key to healthiness. I don't think throwing in a little meat or sugar now and then is horrible, especially if the flavor convinces you to eat more of the good stuff! Glad to have you sharing too, Cindy.

What you may also want to do, is also convert any recipes you have that has eggs, mil, mayo, etc. to a low/no fat version of such recipes. It may take some time to adjust to the taste of many of the low/no fat versions of such recipes, but if you can do it just right, your family may not notice much of a difference in the taste.
