Where did I learn to can?

My mother did very little canning as she did not have time for a garden as she had 7 kids in 10 yrs. and little space to plant a garden. So, I had very little training until I married into a big farm family that raised all the vegetables and canned everything. My husband had grown up canning and freezing so he insisted that I learn how to do it too. Shortly after we were married, I had a set of twins that kept me very busy at home for about 7 years. That's when I learned to can...from my husband!! I really enjoyed it and now I teach it when I get a chance to some of my students. My kids are grown and raising gardens of their own and I'm helping wherever I'm needed. It's been loads of fun!
