Some pizza facts

I got these pizza facts from a site called Pizzaware:

Every day, Americans eat 100 acres of pizza. That's a lot of pizza!

In any three-day period, 42% of kid aged 6 to 11 will have eaten pizza at least once. My kid are definitely in that group. I think my son eats pizza every day!

Women are twice as likely as men to order vegetarian toppings. We can change that on this site; let's push the envelope on vegetarian toppings.

Cultural differences show up on pizzas. The Japanese like eel and squid on pizza, the Russians go in for mackeral and onion, the Venezualans like green peas.

I was always surprised in England to see that it was very popular to get a fried egg on top of pizza, but I think my next pizza experiment will be with the popular 'flambe' from France: smoked bacon and onion in a bechamel sauce. Decadent, yes. Maybe on a crust that incorporates butter?

Flame on,
Don
