Portuguese Cusine

I have just returned from my first visit to Portugal.
I was somewhat dissapointed with the cusine .However i learnt that most of what I thought was Portuguese food is in fack not Portuguese Portuguese but African Portuguese with the influence from Cape Verde, Angola and Mozambique.the Pastries were incredible . the Portuguese certainly like their sweet stuff
Any comments on Traditional style Portuguese cooking
