Receta 10 Reasons I No Longer Think Bundle Sales are Crazy

Welcome! If you wish you could eat more whole foods without breaking your budget, you're in the right place. Start here for my top 10 baby steps to better Kitchen Stewardship. Enter your email address for free post updates: I used to look at eBooks and think, “Why would I spend money on a digital book for my computer when (a) I can find a zillion recipes, blog posts and research articles for free, and (b) I don’t have a strong desire to spend more time in front of the computer. And another good one – the library has plenty of books for free. So there. Plenty of reasons eBooks are dumb. And yet I still wrote one, and I believe in it (them). Want to know why? Because I know how hard I worked, how most eBook authors have their writing edited (while most bloggers may not), and I know how I got feedback from recipe testers, how many times I made the recipes myself. I know how much, now, that I LOVE being able to so easily print an already formatted page instead of relying on the Internet. And I also know how many recipes that are just tossed up online are sort of a gamble. So. Especially now that I know how to search through all my PDF eBooks for certain recipe ingredients, and now that I finally have a Smartphone and know how efficient it is to have books on a mobile device, I embrace eBooks a little bit more. I still have trouble thinking about spending very much on them though…but the bundle offered this week is different. I have not had any trouble at all thinking of reasons to buy it, and in fact I DID purchase it, three times, as gifts for the KS team. Bear with me as I channel my inner David Letterman… Top 10 Reasons I Would Actually Buy This Bundle Coffee table conversations. Getting to have audio files to take with me on the go of groups of authors mentoring on various subjects is so cool now that I actually listen to podcasts and stuff! Freebies that aren’t just coupons to make you spend more money. Sure, you have to pay shipping, and you might not choose to get all nine of them, but overall, these are real deal goodies, over $15o worth. The ability to give gifts. This is the first of its kind for a bundle sale – you can actually enter a friend’s email and everything will be sent directly to them. I am always more willing to buy something if I can check someone off my shopping list for gifts! I gave the bundle last spring to my friend Laurie in appreciation for her guest post reviewing the DIY lotion kit. The 3-for-2 deal makes it even better! If you have two friends who also want the bundle, or two people who would appreciate it as a gift, you can add two additional bundles to your purchase for 50% off, bringing the total of each bundle to just $19.98. Wow.  (This option is available through Paypal too!) Easy peasy downloading. I heard from people who purchased the homemaking package last spring that it took 30 minutes just to download the files from the shopping cart and put them in folders. Ugh. I was all ready to sit down and watch a Big Bang Theory with my husband while I downloaded eBooks to review them last week, and then, BOOM. One click, one file, and I was done. The one file is already organized by topic and so simple to get on your devices. Better Than a Box is honored to be part of its first bundle sale ever. At $16.95, you’d only have to be interested in $3.03 worth of stuff to make up the 3-for-2 deal prices, or $13.o1 to cover a whole bundle. Out of 85 other eBooks (see all the titles here), I sure hope you can find a few to love! GNOWFGLINS eCourse membership discount. I’ve been a guest lecturer on yogurt and sourdough crackers and bread in the past, and these online classes are really something else. When you’re in the midst of checkout, you’ll get a one-time offer of over 80% off on the one-year premium membership, bringing the full year to under $90. If traditional foods cooking has been something you’re remotely interested in learning via online courses at your own pace, you will never run out of things to try on GNOWFGLINS! There are already 8 courses, including Cultured Dairy & Cheesemaking, Sourdough, basic real food cooking, Dehydrating (that’s the book that is also in the bundle), Real Food Kids, and more! If you’re a current member, you can take advantage of the offer too! See the comments section at my main bundle post for instructions. The Cultures for Health starters. I shared my own homemade yogurt tutorial this week on Facebook and it was really popular – making yogurt saves ME over $1000 a year, just on that one grocery item, so I firmly believe everyone should do it! And although I love my heated/cooler method, there’s actually an easier way: countertop yogurt. Countertop yogurt isn’t our favorite for eating (but it’s not bad!), but it’s great for smoothies and preserves our raw milk enzymes. Also, our family eats 5 quarts of yogurt a week, and I can only fit 4 in my pot/cooler, so this is the easiest way to get no. 5. Plus if I’m ever seriously too busy to make cooler-incubated yogurt, I always have time for countertop yogurt. If you’re not lucky enough to have someone living near you who can share their starter (I am so lucky! Counting my blessings!) then you have to buy one. They run about $12…or you can use the $5 off credit at CFH along with your free kombucha or sourdough starter and pay only $3.99 in flat shipping. The yogurt starter alone could pay for the entire cost of the bundle in 3 months if you make just 2 quarts of regular yogurt a week (even faster if you make organic), and that’s if you always buy big tubs of yogurt on sale. The TriLight Health freebie. I’ve often talked about and used TriLight’s products, and $15 off an order (no minimum) is enough to try a small size of anything that comes in a 2-ounce bottle. One of our favs is Lympha Rub, which we call “magic drops” for coughs. That particular one is their bestseller and free with signing up for their newsletter…so I’m wondering if you can get that freebie, add a $15 2-ounce bottle plus something else for $10 to get to the $25 free shipping threshold and really end up with a super incredible deal. Anyone tried that? The pressure to try some new things. Sure, there’s plenty of information and recipes on the web, but when I buy something, I think, “I spent money on it, so I should use them!” And voila – a more varied menu. I also tend to get incredibly distracted when online, so it’s good to close down my zillion Firefox tabs sometimes and still have something to read and to make for dinner. (For example, watch this: click on the link to see all the eBooks in the bundle. See? Didn’t you just want to click on that and keep reading?) That was way easier than I thought to come up with ten reasons. I didn’t even get to list my favorite books and show you how much just a handful would cost compared to the value of the whole bundle! For example: The UnWired Mom + Healing Candida with Food + Confessions of a Cloth Diaper Convert + Warning: I Throw Food—A Comprehensive Guide to Natural Homemade Baby Food + 21 Days to a More Disciplined Life = $50.42 You don’t need a calculator to tell you that just five books would be far more than the cost of the bundle at full price, and shoot – even if you caught Black Friday 50% off sales on everyone, you’d still only need $5 more of something interesting to reach the bundle price. Again – I’m not one to spend much money on, well, anything other than quality food to be honest, and especially digital products. But this one…it’s not just digital. It’s not just eBooks. It’s really something special. I’ve already made a few new dinners (one was just okay, but one is a new favorite, from KerryAnn’s Family Friendly Allergen-Free) and have many more on my list. Here’s the catch – the sale ends at midnight TONIGHT EST. It’s time to make a decision…and I’m happy to help answer any questions you have or even peek into a book to tell you sort of what’s in there. Then after today we’re back to our regular free content here at KS, in case you were a little tired of hearing about the bundle. I did talk about it a lot, I know, but I’m excited to share the opportunity with you, and also because not everyone sees everything, and folks will say, “I missed it!” next week if I don’t put it out there often. So…What do you want to know? Disclosure: I am an affiliate for the sale as an author, so I’ll get commissions. I really appreciate your purchase to support all the free content and my blogger butt from sitting and typing so many hours…   I am also an affiliate for Cultures for Health and GNOWFGLINS if you happen to make any purchases there.
