%20left%20until%20the%20New%20Year.%20Yep,%20it's%20time%20to%20start%20planning%20the%20New%20Year's%20Eve%20bash!%20Okay,%20so%20maybe%20even%20for%20me,%20the%20ultimate%20planner%20and%20organizer,%20it's%20a%20little%20too%20early%20for%20that.%20After%20all,%20I've%20got%20ideas%20for%20Halloween,%20Thanksgiving%20and%20Christmas%20swirling%20around%20in%20my%20mind%20too.%20Truthfully,%20the%20only%20reason%20NYE%20even%20popped%20into%20my%20head%20was%20b/c%20I%20was%20making%20a%20snack%20for%20Adam%20and%20I%20to%20share%20for%20Monday%20Night%20Football%20bonding%20time.%20And%20the%20minute%20I%20put%20it%20on%20the%20plate%20I%20thought%20%22I%20have%20to%20remember%20this%20for%20our%20party.%22%20Now%20the%20funny%20part,%20this%20big%20party%20I'm%20planning%20for?%20It's%20just%20the%203%20of%20us.%20We%20used%20to%20go%20out%20to%20celebrate,%20but%20after%20Alex%20came%20along,%20we%20chose%20to%20stay%20in%20and%20make%20it%20a%20family%20night.%20Now%20that%20Alex%20is%20old%20enough%20to%20understand%20he%20looks%20forward%20to%20that%20night%20so%20much.%20Kind%20of%20a%20post-Christmas%20blowout.%20You%20remember%20that%20feeling%20as%20a%20kid,%20Christmas%20is%20over,%20and%20you%20need%20something%20to%20look%20forward%20to,%20and%20help%20ease%20the%20blow%20of%20school%20vacation%20coming%20to%20an%20end,%20and%20for%20Alex%20this%20is%20it.%20I%20don't%20cook%20an%20actual%20meal%20that%20night.%20Instead,%20I%20put%20out%20an%20entire%20table%20of%20what%20we%20call%20%22nibbly%20bits%22,%20aka%20appetizers.%20(That%20came%20when%20my%20son%20had%20speech%20problems%20and%20appetizers%20was%20just%20a%20tad%20too%20hard%20for%20him...lol)%20We%20have%20our%20staples%20we%20have%20each%20year,%20and%20I%20always%20try%20to%20have%20a%20couple%20newbies.%20Some%20of%20the%20things%20that%20are%20usually%20on%20our%20party%20buffet%20are:%20shrimp%20rings,%20pot%20stickers,%20veggies/dip,%20deviled%20eggs,%20cracker/cheese,%20chips/salsa,%20dried%20beef%20roll%20ups...to%20just%20name%20a%20few.%20But%20this%20year%20this%20will%20definitely%20be%20making%20it's%20debut!%20It's%20a%20twist%20on%20a%20dip/spread%20my%20grandma%20made%202%20years%20ago%20when%20we%20were%20home%20for%20Thanksgiving.%20It's%20so%20simple,%20and%20yet%20so%20delicious--she%20sat%20it%20out%20before%20lunch%20and%20we%20couldn't%20get%20enough!%20By%20the%20time%20lunch%20came%20around%20we%20were%20full!%20Her%20recipe%20called%20for%20the%20cream%20cheese%20and%20olives%20only;%20and%20this%20time%20I%20added%20some%20capers.%20Why??%20Because%20I%20had%20them,%20love%20them,%20and%20don't%20have%20enough%20excuses%20to%20use%20them!%20I%20know%20this%20will%20be%20the%20perfection%20addition%20to%20our%20party%20table%20and%20it%20almost%20makes%20me%20wish%20New%20Year's%20Eve%20was%20next%20week.%20On%20second%20thought....that%20would%20mean%20Christmas%20is%20this%20week%20and%20I%20have%20a%20TON%20of%20shopping%20to%20do.%20Never%20mind.%20I%20can%20wait.....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPut%20olives%20and%20capers%20in%20food%20processor%20and%20pulse%20until%20finely%20chop.%20Add%20cream%20cheese%20and%20pulse%20until%20combined.%20Using%20rubber%20spatula,%20scrape%20down%20the%20sides%20and%20pulse%20a%20few%20more%20times%20to%20insure%20it's%20well%20incorporated.%20Serve%20w/%20your%20favorite%20crackers,%20veggies,%20pita%20bread,%20etc.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
