Receta 3 Cheese Kale Gratin
Just a few days until Thanksgiving! Are you all ready? Is your menu set? Lists made and ready to cook? I’m excited because I personally think Thanksgiving is the best when it comes to food! If you are still looking for a vegetable side dish, look no further!! This 3 Cheese Kale Gratin is out of this world!!! Kale is such an incredible super food and cheese, well is just amazing goodness. Put the two together and you will be a rock star at Thanksgiving!!!
When I was thinking of a green side dish, first spinach came to mind BUT while I love spinach, it shrinks way too much for a crowd. The kale is a great dark green and keeps its volume much more so. Its more of a hearty green that holds up really well to the longer cooking time in the oven.
The kale is boiled just for a bit to start the cooking process and get it tender. Drained very well then I stir in Boursin garlic & herb cheese, shredded fontina cheese and light cream. All that goodness goes into a baking dish, topped with a mixture of grated pecorino cheese and Italian seasoned breadcrumbs. A drizzle of olive oil then baked until bubbly and golden. If you haven’t yet tried kale, this recipe will win you over and have you hooked!!!
