,%20so%20time%20is%20of%20the%20essence%20lately.%20I%20had%20promised%20to%20post%20some%20chocolate%20goodies%20that%20Allie%20and%20I%20whipped%20up%20for%20Mr%20B%20on%20his%20day,%20but,%20as%20sometimes%20happens,%20they%20weren't%20QUITE%20what%20we%20expected.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESomething%20that%20gooey%20and%20chocolatey%20should%20make%20you%20swoon,%20right??%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENot%20so%20much.%20They%20were%20%22okay%22%20but%20just%20%22okay%22%20is%20just%20not%20good%20enough%20to%20share%20with%20you%20all.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20brownie%20recipe%20came%20from%20a%20local%20publication-%20these%20caramel%20brownies%20are%20a%20specialty%20of%20a%20fabulous%20bakery%20in%20Charlotte,%20but%20somehow,%20they%20lost%20something%20in%20the%20translation.%20Interestingly,%20another%20blogger%20told%20me%20these%20have%20been%20showing%20up%20all%20over%20the%20Net-%20I'd%20be%20interested%20to%20know%20if%20we%20were%20the%20only%20ones%20not%20impressed.%20We're%20going%20to%20tweak%20these%20a%20bit,%20then%20bring%20them%20back-%20the%20concept%20is%20just%20too%20good%20to%20give%20up%20on%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20THESE.....!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETHESE%20were%20GOOD!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EButtery,%20gooey,%20salted%20caramels%20(I%20used%20the%20pink%20Himalayan%20salt-%20isn't%20it%20pretty?!)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20recipe%20for%20these%20will%20be%20posted%20on%20our%20Facebook%20Fan%20page%20tonight,%20so%20be%20sure%20to%20come%20on%20over%20and%20%22like%22%20us%20here%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToday%20for%20Meatless%20Monday%20I'm%20going%20to%20cheat%20just%20a%20bit.%20I%20happened%20to%20have%20some%20gorgeous%20shrimp%20that%20needed%20to%20be%20used%20up,%20and%20since%20Mary%20at%20One%20Perfect%20Bite%20says%20it's%20okay,%20then%20it's%20okay%20by%20me.%20If%20you've%20never%20been%20over%20to%20Mary's%20blog,%20you're%20missing%20something%20special-%20this%20is%20one%20of%20my%20very%20favorite%20daily%20reads%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20a%20recipe%20I've%20had%20literally%20for%20years-%20from%20WAY%20before%20I%20even%20knew%20what%20a%20blog%20was%20(okay,%20so%20that%20was%20just%20a%20few%20months%20ago...)%20and%20certainly%20way%20before%20I%20ever%20thought%20I'd%20be%20writing%20anything%20and%20the%20importance%20of%20crediting%20the%20source.%20So%20please%20forgive%20me%20for%20not%20remembering%20where%20this%20came%20from,%20but%20it's%20been%20at%20least%2025%20years%20(I%20can't%20believe%20I%20just%20admitted%20to%20that!).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnyway,%20this%20can%20easily%20be%20done%20in%20the%20time%20it%20takes%20to%20boil%20the%20water%20and%20cook%20the%20pasta%20and%20it's%20one%20of%20my%20very%20favorite%20quick%20pastas.%20I%20once%20made%20this%20for%20a%20friend%20who%20dropped%20in%20unexpectedly%20for%20lunch%20and%20this%20tiny,%20petite%20little%20person%20finished%20off%20the%20whole%20platter-%20a%20pound!%20(minus%20what%20I%20ate%20of%20course....)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJust%20a%20few%20simple%20ingredients.....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ea%20little%20Brandy,%20a%20little%20cream......%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMelt%20the%20butter%20in%20a%20large%20skillet.%20Add%20leeks%20and%20scallions%20and%20saute%20about%205%20minutes%20till%20softening.%20Add%20shrimp,%20tarragon,%20salt,%20and%20lemon%20zest.%20The%20licorice-y%20aroma%20of%20the%20tarragon%20will%20be%20divine.%20This%20brought%20Allie%20right%20out%20of%20her%20room%20on%20the%20second%20floor%20to%20see%20what%20was%20cooking!%20:)%20Toss%20and%20saute%202-3%20minutes%20till%20shrimp%20starts%20to%20cook%20and%20turn%20pink.%20%20Add%20Brandy%20and%20cook%20till%20almost%20evaporated,%20about%202%20minutes.%20Add%20cream%20and%20pepper%20and%20remove%20from%20heat.%20Drain%20pasta%20and%20serve%20topped%20with%20sauce-%20if%20too%20dry,%20add%20a%20bit%20of%20cream%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E**NOTE-%20I%20have%20also%20made%20this%20with%20Vermouth%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHave%20a%20wonderful%20day!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20Always,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBuon%20Cibo,%20Buon%20Amici,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPattie%20and%20Allie%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
