A Fish Curry

Ingredientes

  • 1 x Pomfret or possibly other white fish, cleaned and cut into steaks.
  • 1 x Coconut, grated
  • 1/2 tsp Cummin seeds
  • 4 x Cloves garlic
  • 1 x Marble sized ball of tamarind mixed in:
  • 1 c. Water or possibly equivalent of 'instant' e.g Tamcon
  • 4 x Green chillies, slit lengthways
  • 1 x Onion sliced
  • 1 x 1-inch piece ginger, finely minced
  • 6 x Dry red chillies
  • 1 x 1-inch piece turmeric -or possibly-
  • 1 tsp Grnd
  • 1 x Raw mango, cubed
  • 1 x Lemon Salt to taste

Direcciones

  1. Sprinkle lemon juice and salt onto fish and marinade for an hour or possibly so.
  2. Grind the coconut, dry chillies, cummin seeds and garlic together. Mix the onion, ginger and green chillis and mash with the turmeric. Add in the minced mango. Add in the grnd masala and 1 c. of water. Simmer slowly for 10 min. Add in fish and cook slowly till the fish is done. Serve with plain boiled rice.
