%20It's%20ok%20she%20passed%20away%20in%201990,%20But%20you%20know%20what%20I%20mean.%20For%20the%20most%20part%20this%20is%20a%20tradition.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20I%20decided%20to%20live%20with%20my%20Cuban%20Bf,%20he%20didn't%20observe%20Lent.%20As%20I%20am%20the%20one%20who%20makes%20the%20meals,%20He%20did%20observe%20lent,%20he%20just%20didn't%20know%20it.%20I%20just%20made%20a%20point%20of%20making%20Fish%20on%20Friday.%20He%20never%20thought%20to%20question%20it.%20He%20just%20ate%20it%20:)%20What%20a%20guy!%20When%20he%20asked%20why%20so%20much%20fish,%20I%20would%20say%20it's%20Lent%20and%20he%20just%20went%20along%20with%20it.%20He%20now%20knows%20to%20ask%20when%20Lent%20is%20coming%20because%20there%20are%20some%20concoctions%20I%20have%20made%20for%20him%20that%20he%20misses%20when%20it%20isn't%20Lent%20anymore.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Spaghetti%20with%20Tuna%20Marinara.%20The%20very%20first%20time%20I%20made%20it%20for%20him,%20I%20was%20scared%20to%20serve%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20he%20was%20a%20trooper,%20he%20said,%20he%20would%20try%20anything%20I%20made.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESpaghetti%20with%20Tuna%20Marinara%20was%20a%20meal%20my%20Mom%20used%20to%20make%20for%20us%20during%20Lent.%20She%20had%204%20kids%20&%20was%20on%20a%20very%20limited%20income%20(no%20child%20support).%20She%20had%20to%20make%20every%20buck%20stretch.%20Needless%20to%20say%20we%20never%20saw%20the%20Shrimp,%20Scallops%20or%20Salmon%20my%20Son%20&%20Stepdaughters%20are%20used%20to.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20anyway,%20He%20loves%20the%20Spaghetti%20with%20Tuna%20Marinara%20so%20much,%20that%20during%20the%20year%20when%20it%20isn't%20Lent%20he%20asks,%20%22When%20is%20Lent%20again?%20I%20really%20could%20use%20a%20plate%20of%20that%20spaghetti!%22%20Go%20figure.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20week,%20I%20made%20one%20of%20his%20faves.%20Shrimp.%20He%20loves%20Shrimp!%20He%20especially%20loves%20shrimp%20that's%20sauteed%20with%20onion,%20garlic,%20red%20pepper%20flakes%20&%20sundried%20tomatoes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo,%20Tonight%20we%20had%20%20Shrimp%20&%20Broccoli%20Alfredo%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20one%20of%20the%20easiest%20ways%20I%20know%20to%20make%20a%20flavorful%20Shrimp%20dinner%20without%20really%20taking%20a%20chance%20of%20overcooking%20it.%20Give%20it%20a%20try.%20Tell%20me%20what%20You%20think!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECook%20Pasta%20per%20Package%20Directions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDrain%20Pasta,%20return%20Pan%20to%20stove%20at%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMedium/High%20Heat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESauce%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20Butter%20and%20flour%20to%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20butter%20and%20flour%20for%202-3%20minutes%20add%20cream.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBring%20Sauce%20to%20boil.%20Add%20Parmesan,%20Lower%20heat%20to%20Low%20and%20simmer%20until%20ready%20to%20use.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EShrimp%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20a%20Saute%20Pan%20to%20Medium%20High%20Heat,%20add%20Olive%20Oil,%20Onions,%20Garlic,%20Red%20Pepper%20&%20Sun%20Dried%20Tomatoes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESaute%20until%20well%20combined%20and%20heated%20through.%20Onions%20should%20be%20translucent.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDredge%20Shrimp%20through%20flour.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20to%20Saute%20Pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20heat%20down%20to%20Medium.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20Shrimp%20frequently.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20the%20Shrimp%20Turn%20Pink,%20add%20the%20Wine%20and%20simmer%20on%20medium%20low%20to%20low%20for%202%20minutes%20.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20the%20Shrimp%20is%20simmering:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20%22fresh%22%20Broccoli%20%20in%20a%20Microwave%20safe%20bowl%20with%201/4%20cup%20water%20and%20Microwave%20for%2090%20seconds%20to%202%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20Broccoli%20and%20Pasta%20to%20Sauce.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20the%20Shrimp%20Over%20the%20Pasta.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEnjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E**If%20you'd%20rather%20not%20have%20the%20Alfredo.%20Omit%20it.%20The%20Shrimp%20and%20it's%20Sauce%20is%20Fabulous%20over%20the%20pasta!%20You%20can%20also%20add%20Lemon%20if%20you're%20not%20doing%20the%20Alfredo.%20Either%20way%20it's%20a%20really%20easy%20and%20flavorful%20way%20to%20serve%20Shrimp.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
