.%20For%20the%20main%20course,%20Mangalica%20was%20prepared%20three%20different%20ways,%20but%20we%20didn't%20have%20to%20choose%20which%20type%20of%20pork%20we%20wanted%20most,%20as%20we%20were%20served%20all%20three.%20All%20guests%20were%20served%20roasted%20Mangalica%20pork%20with%20a%20beer%20gravy,%20cured%20Mangalica%20pork%20in%20a%20vegetable%20broth,%20and%20Mangalica%20pork%20loin%20steaks%20with%20roasted%20onions.%20My%20favorite%20preparation%20was%20the%20cured%20pork.%20Mangalica%20is%20known%20for%20its%20rich%20and%20fatty%20meat,%20and%20it%20was%20nice%20to%20enjoy%20it%20prepped%20to%20be%20a%20little%20drier%20than%20the%20other%20varieties%20where%20the%20richness%20and%20fattiness%20was%20more%20prominent.%20Old%20Europe's%20sauerkraut,%20hand%20made%20Spatzle,%20apple%20red%20cabbage,%20and%20pomme%20macaire,%20were%20delicious%20accompaniments%20to%20the%20meal.%20After%20consuming%20three%20generous%20portions%20of%20pork,%20the%20Spatzle%20really%20hit%20the%20spot.%20I%20probably%20could%20have%20finished%20the%20bowl%20sitting%20at%20the%20center%20of%20the%20table,%20but%20I%20held%20off%20since%20I%20knew%20dessert%20was%20still%20on%20its%20way.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20ended%20the%20meal%20with%20a%20plate%20of%20sweet%20palacsinta%20and%20fresh%20fruit%20salad,%20marinated%20with%20sligovica.%20Wondering%20where%20the%20Mangalica%20in%20this%20dish%20is?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChocolate%20covered%20bacon%20practically%20stood%20atop%20the%20fresh%20fruit.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOld%20Europe%20Restaurant%20did%20an%20amazing%20job%20showcasing%20the%20Mangalica%20pig.%20From%20bacon%20spread,%20to%20cured%20pork,%20to%20a%20bacon%20chocolate%20chip,%20Old%20Europe%20Restaurant%20did%20not%20limit%20themselves%20in%20any%20way.%20I%20know%20local%20ingredients%20are%20now%20at%20the%20center%20of%20many%20restaurants,%20and%20people%20want%20to%20eat%20meat%20from%20farms%20they%20can%20drive%20to%20on%20the%20weekend,%20but%20sometimes%20you%20want%20to%20experience%20the%20local%20food%20from%20other%20countries%20without%20actually%20visiting%20the%20country.%20I%20can%20only%20visit%20Hungary%20so%20many%20times%20in%20one%20lifetime.%20After%20this%20experience%20at%20Old%20Europe%20Restaurant,%20I'm%20eagerly%20awaiting%20the%20arrival%20of%20the%20Mangalica%20pig%20to%20other%20restaurants%20in%20the%20area.%20I%20know%20other%20area%20chefs%20could%20do%20great%20things%20with%20this%20pig.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
