Ingredientes

  • 4 x Egg whites
  • 1 tsp Cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1 tsp Grated orange peel
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp Almond extract
  • 1 c. Sliced almonds, toasted *

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar and salt till frothy. On high, gradually beat in sugar till stiff peaks are formed. Mix in orange peel, vanilla extract, almond extract and 3/4 c. toasted almonds. Drop batter by teaspoonsful onto nonstick cookie sheet sprayed with vegetable cooking spray. Sprinkle cookies with remaining 1/4 c. toasted almonds. Bake for 15 to 20 min, or possibly till lightly browned.
  2. Store in airtight container.
  3. Servings: 4 dozen cookies
  4. To toast almonds, spread in an ungreased baking pan. Place in 350 degree oven and bake 5 - 10 min or possibly till almonds are light brown; stir once or possibly twice to assure even browning. Note which almonds will continue to brown slightly after removing from oven.
