- Clean and wash the fish. Cut into small steaks, rub in salt and set aside.
- Grind all the other ingredients bar the onion into a paste (masala) with a little water. Fry the onion till brown. Add in the masala and fry for a minute. Add in 1 c. of water. Bring to boil then add in fish. Cook on low heat till tender. A little salt and vinegar may be added if you like.
- Serve with plain boiled rice.
