Ingredientes

  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1/3 cup urad dal rinsed and ; drained
  • 1/3 cup chana dal rinsed and ; drained
  • 1 tablespoon asafoetida chunks
  • 1 1/2 cups coriander seeds
  • 3/4 cup cumin seeds
  • 4 tablespoons black peppercorns
  • 3 tablespoons mustard seeds
  • 3 tablespoons fenugreek seeds
  • 20 red chilis ; dried
  • 4 tablespoons turmeric ground
  • 1 tablespoon garlic ground

Direcciones

  1. Heat peanut oil over medium heat. Add dals and fry until light golden, about 1-2 minutes. Remove and drin on paper towels to cool saving the oil in the pan.
  2. Reheat oil in pan adding the asafoetida, letting it fry for a few seconds until it swells up.
  3. Remove, drain and cool on paper towels then break up in to small pieces.
  4. Set side tumeric and garlic grinding the remaining spices to a fine powder.
  5. Transfer to a bowl, add in garlic and tumeric then mix well.
  6. Sieve and store in a sterlie airtight container.
