Apple And Cinnamon Layer Pudding

Ingredientes

  • 224 gm selfraising flour
  • 1 pch salt
  • 112 gm shredded suet cool water
  • 448 gm apples prepared weight(peeled cored and thinly sliced)
  • 56 gm sultanas
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. soft brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp mixed spice

  1. Method
  2. 1.Make pastry: mix flour salt and suet together in a basin. Add in sufficicnt cool water to make a pliable dough.
  3. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and lightly knead. Leave the dough in a cold place to rest for a few min.
  4. Divide pastry into four pcs and roll out into circles each one a little larger than the previous.
  5. Mix prepared apples with sultanas cinnamon sugar and mixed spice.
  6. Grease a 2pt/1 litre ovenproof basin.
  7. Place the smallest circle on the base of the dish and cover with a layer of apple mix.
  8. Repeat this process ending with a layer of pastry.
  9. Cover with foil and tie string around the lip of the bowl.
  10. Steam for 2 hrs: place the bowl in a saucepan and pour sufficient water into the pan to reach 4uarter way up the basin place the lid on and steam.
  11. Serve warm with custard or possibly fresh cream.
  12. Any other fruit or possibly jam may be used inplace of the above mix.
  13. Serves 4
