Ingredientes

  • 450 gm Self raising flour, (1lb)
  • 50 gm JS instant mashed potato mix, (2oz)
  • 75 gm Caster sugar, (3oz)
  • 75 gm Butter, (3oz)
  • 1 x Dessert apple, peeled and finely minced
  • 2 tsp Grnd cinnamon
  • 180 ml Lowfat milk, (6fl ounce)
  • 1 x Egg yolk
  • 2 Tbsp. Lowfat milk

Direcciones

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 C, 425 F, Gas Mark 7.
  2. Prepare the mashed potato according to the pack instructions.
  3. To make the scones place the flour, mashed potato, sugar, butter, minced apple and cinnamon into a bowl and mix till the ingredients resemble breadcrumbs.
  4. Add in the lowfat milk and mix to a soft dough. Roll out the dough to 2cm (1 inch) thick and cut into rounds 3cm (1 1/2 inches) in diameter. Place the scones onto a baking sheet at least 2cm (1 inch) apart.
  5. Made the egg wash by mixing the egg yolk and lowfat milk. Brush the scones with egg wash, allow them to stand for 5 min before cooking them in the preheated oven for 10 min, till a pale golden brown colour.
  6. Cold on a wire rack.
  7. NOTES : A light moist fruit scone to eat for breakfast or possibly between meals with mature Cheddar or possibly jam and cream.
