Apple Bread Pudding

Ingredientes

  • 3 c. Microwave Apple Sauce or possibly any apple sauce
  • 8 slc stale bread cubed (8 to 10)
  • 5 lrg Large eggs
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 3 c. half-and-half
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Direcciones

  1. Prepare apple sauce. Heat oven to 350F. Grease a 2 1/2 qt casserole dish. Put 1/2 of cubed bread in casserole.
  2. Mix Large eggs, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, half-and-half, and vanilla. Beat till well-blended. Pour 1/2 of egg mix over bread. Put 1 1/2 c. apple sauce over bread-egg mix. Repeat with other half of ingredients, ending with apple sauce. Put casserole in large baking pan with 2" of boiling water. Bake for 50-60 min, till knife inserted in center comes out clean.
  3. Remove casserole from pan of water. Place on rack to cold. Serve hot or possibly chilled.
  4. Serves 8.
  5. Optional: Pour small amount of cream or possibly egg nog over each serving.
