Receta Apple Chips with Caramel Dip Recipe
Bake apple slices until nice and crispy
then dip them in a delicious and decadent caramel sauce.
Dessert doesn't always have to be a cake or ice cream, it can be a delicious apple chip! The kids love apples, but sometimes they start to eat one, get distracted and when they get back to it, it's brown. I'm not one to waste food so I decided to slice it up, toss it in vanilla, cinnamon and sugar then bake until crispy. I thought they reminded me of chips so I made a caramel dip to go with them. It was a different type of dessert that we'll be having quite often.
Ingredients are as follows:
apples
vanilla
- cinnamon
- sugar
- caramel dip:
- 1/2 C brown sugar
- 1/4 C butter
- 1 Tbsp. syrup (like corn syrup or pancake syrup)
- dash of salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a cookie sheet.
Core then slice the apples really thin.
Drizzle on some vanilla then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
Place in a single layer onto the cookie sheet.
Bake for 20-30 minutes until golden brown...be careful, they can burn fast! Set aside to cool.
In a saucepan, melt the brown sugar, butter, syrup, salt and vanilla over medium heat. Bring it up to a boil.
Add the baking soda; stir until combined and continue boiling for another minute.
Allow to cool down some before serving.
Serve and enjoy!
