Receta Apple Rasam
Ingredients:
- Dal Water – 2 cups
- Apple – 1, peeled, chopped
- Tomatoes – 2, chopped, ground to a puree
- Lemon Juice – 1 tblsp
- Rasam Powder – 1/2 tblsp
- Asafoetida Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Salt as per taste
- Black Peppercorns – 1 1/2 tsp
- Cumin Seeds – 2 tsp
- Dry Red Chillies – 2
- Coriander Leaves – few
- Curry Leaves – fw
- Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Ghee – 1 tblsp
Method:
1. Dry roast the peppercorns, cumin seeds, red chillies, curry leaves and grind to a powder.
2. Mix the tomato puree and dal water in a pan over medium flame.
3. Fry the apple pieces in ghee. Add to the pan along with 1 cup of water.
4. Add turmeric powder, rasam powder, asafoetida powder and salt.
5. Mix well.
6. Fry the mustard seeds and curry leaves in little oil.
7. Add to the rasam.
8. When it starts to powder add the ground powder.
9. Stir well and simmer for 2 minutes.
10. Add lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.
11. Serve hot.
