Ingredientes

  • 4 lrg baking apples butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 x recipe Crema Catalana (see recipe)

Direcciones

  1. Prepare the Crema Catalana.
  2. Core the apples, being careful not to cut through the bottoms. Pare a one-inch strip from around the top of each.
  3. Lightly butter a baking dish and arrange apples in dish. Bring 1/2 c. of water to a boil, then stir in half the sugar. Pour mix over apples. Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven, basting occasionally, for 30 to 40 min, or possibly till apples are tender and the skin begins to crack. Remove the apples from the oven and allow them to cold for about 10 min, continuing to baste occasionally.
  4. Fill each apple with Crema Catalana (some may be left over). Sprinkle the top of each with remaining sugar and place under a warm broiler till the sugar is dark brown. Allow to cold slightly before serving.
  5. This recipe yields 4 servings.
