,%20new%20Pass%20the%20Sushi%20Cook%20Book%20Club,%20Guy%20Fieri%20Food:%20Cookin'%20It,%20Livin'%20It,%20Lovin'%20It%20received%20Kita's%20nod%20for%20the%20month%20of%20March%20and%20she%20curated%20three%20recipes%20for%20the%20rest%20of%20us%20to%20choose%20from.%20%20(Kita's%20idea%20is%20to%20challenge%20ourselves%20to%20use%20some%20of%20the%20much%20loved%20but%20often%20forgotten%20cookbooks%20lining%20our%20overflowing%20shelves...)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECick%20here%20to%20join%20the%20club!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'll%20admit%20to%20being%20somewhat%20skeptical%20as%20I%20originally%20read%20the%20recipe.%20%20First%20of%20all,%20I%20don't%20fry...%20anything.%20%20So%20I%20almost%20didn't%20continue%20and%20gave%20thought%20to%20moving%20on%20to%20the%20enticing%20Cherry%20Cobbler%20Pizza.%20%20However,%20glancing%20down%20an%20ingredient%20list%20sporting%20all%20my%20favorite%20Asian%20flavors%20mixed%20up%20in%20one%20bowl%20(soy%20sauce,%20ginger,%20egg,%20veggies,%20garlic,%20etc)%20along%20with%20my%20beloved%20quinoa,%20I%20opted%20to%20give%20it%20a%20go.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20bit%20laborious%20in%20the%20prep,%20the%20dish%20flies%20together%20once%20the%20ingredients%20are%20ready.%20%20Never%20one%20to%20leave%20a%20recipe%20as%20it%20is,%20my%20version%20substituted%20chopped%20spinach%20in%20place%20of%20the%20cabbage%20and%20bok%20choy%20(because%20I%20didn't%20have%20them%20on%20hand),%20and%20omitted%20the%20celery%20(because%20I%20don't%20really%20like%20celery).%20%20Looking%20to%20add%20a%20little%20extra%20spice,%20a%20splash%20of%20Sriracha%20brought%20a%20nice%20finish,%20and%20Liv's%20love%20of%20sesame%20oil%20had%20me%20adding%20a%20Tbs%20or%20so%20just%20for%20her.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20think%20it%20may%20be%20the%20fresh%20ginger%20which%20brings%20this%20dish%20to%20a%20new%20level%20of%20total%20awesomeness,%20and%20after%20only%20one%20taste%20I%20knew%20we%20had%20a%20winner.%20%20Popping%20over%20to%20Kita's%20Facebook%20page%20I%20posted%20my%20enthusiastic%20thoughts%20on%20the%20recipe,%20and%20while%20I%20used%20glowing%20(but%20probably%20fairly%20boring)%20terms%20like,%20awesome,%20and%20loved%20it,%20etc,%20Jen%20from%20Juanita's%20Cocina%20summed%20my%20thoughts%20up%20perfectly%20with:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%22Holy%20crapballs!%20%20This%20is%20delicious%20on%20a%20level%20that%20made%20my%20eyes%20roll%20back%20in%20my%20head.%22%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEnough%20said...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAsian%20Fried%20Quinoa%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20my%20meal%20planning%20tends%20to%20be%20somewhat%20last%20minute,%20I%20love%20the%20versatility%20of%20this%20recipe.%20%20The%20veggies%20allow%20for%20easy%20substitutions%20based%20on%20what's%20on%20hand%20or%20based%20on%20your%20particular%20tastes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOur%20first%20serving%20used%20Guy's%20method%20of%20toasting%20the%20quinoa,%20and%20our%20second%20used%20leftover%20quinoa%20from%20another%20recipe.%20%20Both%20worked%20wonderfully%20and%20the%20second%20version%20saved%20some%20time,%20though%20I%20will%20enjoy%20the%20toasted%20when%20time%20allows.%20%20We've%20substituted%20spinach%20and%20kale%20for%20the%20greens%20and%20changed%20up%20the%20veggies%20to%20include%20asparagus%20and%20red%20pepper%20in%20addition%20to%20those%20on%20Guy's%20list.%20%20Have%20fun,%20create,%20and%20enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGuys%20recipe%20is%20given%20from%20his%20book,%20Guy%20Fieri%20Food:%20Cookin'%20It,%20Livin'%20It,%20Lovin'%20It,%20my%20substitutions%20are%20in%20red.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Emixture%20to%20a%20bowl%20and%20cover.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20remaining%20oil%20in%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eskillet%20over%20medium-high%20heat.%20Add%20the%20quinoa.%20When%20heated%20through,%20pour%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20eggs%20over%20the%20quinoa%20until%20eggs%20have%20cooked.%20Return%20the%20vegetables%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eto%20the%20pan.%20Adjust%20the%20seasoning%20with%20additional%20soy%20sauce%20if%20needed.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
