Ingredientes

  • 1/4 c. Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Matchstick size pcs peeled fresh ginger
  • 1 c. Pure maple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. Whiskey or possibly brandy
  • 1 tsp Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Grated lemon peel
  • 1/2 tsp Grnd nutmeg
  • 4 x 7 ounce. chilled Asian pears
  • 2 Tbsp. Finely minced crystallized ginger
  • 1 Tbsp. Finely minced fresh mint leaves

Direcciones

  1. Combine 1/4 c. water and fresh ginger in heavy medium saucepan. Cover; simmer till ginger is tender, about 5 min. Stir in syrup, whiskey, lemon juice, lemon peel and nutmeg. Simmer 10 min to blend flavors, stirring occasionally. (Can be made 2 days ahead. Cover; chill. Bring to simmer before continuing).
  2. Slice pears into rounds. Overlap rounds on each plate. Drizzle sauce over.
  3. Top with crystallized ginger and mint.
  4. Yield: 6 servings
