Aunt Ag's Chocolate Cake

Ingredientes

  • LARGE RECIPE: 2 (9 inch layers) or possibly 1 (9x13) pan.
  • SINGLE RECIPE: Approximately 22 cupcakes.1 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 4-5 sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 1/2 c. unsifted confectioners sugar
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2 egg yolks or possibly one whole egg
  • 6 T soft butter (I usually use butter)

Direcciones

  1. Mix together and let stand to cool: 3/4 c. cocoaCream together in mixer: 1 1/4 c. granulated sugar 3 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla
  2. Sift together: 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  3. Cream together shortening, sugar, and large eggs well. Add in cocoa mix alternately with sifted dry ingredients. Bake in 350 degree oven approximately 30 min for round pans, 40 min for large pan and 20 min for cupcakes.
  4. Follow directions above.
  5. Add in sugar and water to melted chocolate and mix. Add in egg yolks and beat well. Add in butter, one tbsp at a time and beat well after each. Frosts tops and sides of 2 layer cakes or possibly one 13x9 inch cake. Make less for single recipe of cupcakes. This is a family favorite.
