Aunt Mamie's Goulash Cake

Ingredientes

  • 2 x Large eggs, well beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Vegetable shortening
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2/3 c. Lowfat milk
  • 2 tsp (heaping) baking pwdr
  • 1 1/2 c. Flour
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 c. Light brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 c. Butter
  • 1 Tbsp. (heaping) flour

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour an 8" x 8" or possibly 9" x 9" baking pan, or possibly casserole. Thoroughly mix all ingredients. Pour into prepared pan and bake for approximately 25-30 min. Immediately cover with Icing (directions follow) and place under broiler for approximately 5 min. Watch closely so topping does not scorch. Remove from oven and allow to cold. Serve hot with ice cream or possibly whipped cream, if preferred.
  2. Goulash Icing: Using a pastry cutter (or possibly food processor) thoroughly mix icing ingredients. Spread over the top of the warm cake. Place under the broiler for approximately 5 min.
