Receta Avocado and Orange Salad
I love avocado! You should too! They are not only smooth and creamy but is one of the healthiest foods in the planet. According to Health On Line ~ avocado also contain in excess of 25 essential nutrients, including vitamins A, B, C, E and K, copper, iron, phosporus, magnesium and potassium. In fact, you would need to eat two or three bananas to obtain the potassium content of one avocado. Avocados also contain fibre, protein and beneficial phytochemicals such as beta-sitosterol, glutathione and lutein, which help protect against various diesease and illness.
This Avocado and Orange salad is another easy recipe follow by my Avocado Chicken Salad. A very refreshing salad with adding extra orange juice, lemon juice and olive oil as dressing especially perfect for the hot weather.
Avocado and Orange Salad
Ingredients: (recipe adapted from Natural Gourmet's Kitchen with slight adjustment)
serves 3-4 persons
- 100g Mixed salad greens
- 2 large Oranges, peeled and segmented
- 1/2 Japanese cucumber, thinly sliced
- 2 Avocados, peeled and sliced
- Salad Dressing
- 4 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive oil
- 80ml Orange juice
- 30g Sugar or add to taste
- 50ml Lemon juice or add to taste
- grated orange zest from one orange
- a pinch of salt
Method:
To make the dressing: Combine all ingredients together. Whisk well to blend.
Peel and slice avocado.
Peel and slice orange.
Arrange oranges, cucumbers and avocados on serving plate as desire. Spoon dressing over salad and serve.
