Ingredientes

  • 1 lb bacon diced
  • 1 c. minced yellow onions
  • 1/4 c. tomato paste
  • 1 c. apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. warm sauce
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

Direcciones

  1. Place the bacon in a medium pot and cook till golden and the fat is rendered, about 5 min. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels. Remove all but 1/4 c. of bacon fat from the pan. Add in the onions and cook, stirring, till the onions are soft, 4 min. Add in the tomato paste and stir to incorporate. Add in the vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire, and warm sauce. Stir well and bring to a boil. Add in the sugar, salt, red pepper, and cooked bacon, and cook at a boil till the sugar is dissolved, about 3 min. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer till thickened, 7 to 8 min. Remove from the heat.
  2. With a hand-held immersion blender or possibly in a food processor, lightly pulse to finely chop the bacon. Transfer to a bowl till ready to use.
