Receta Baked Beans
Baked Beans
Just in time for your 4th of July celebration I decided to update my Baked Bean recipe with a few tweeks that I have made over the years. Recently, I took these to a family gathering and the Youngest whispered to me over dinner, “Mom, you should really make these beans, they’re awesome!” I didn’t have the heart to tell him that I DID make them, too cute…
Baked Beans
Yield: Makes A LOT!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 pound bacon-chopped
- 2 large onions-diced
- 1/1/2 pounds ground beef (or chicken or turkey)
- 4 cans (15 ounces) pork and beans
- 1 bottle (18 ounces) honey barbecue sauce
- 2 cans (16 ounces) kidney beans-drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
- Salt and pepper-to taste
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large Dutch oven, over medium heat, cook the chopped up bacon until crisp. Scoop out the bacon, drain on paper towel and set aside. Add the onion to the bacon grease and cook until tender. Add in the beef and cook until no more pink shows; drain. Add in the remainng ingredients and stir until well combined. Cover and bake for abaout 1 hour or until heated through.
