%20%20Torture%20Todd%20with%20pasta%20day!%20%20Yes%20.%20.%20.%20every%20once%20in%20a%20while,%20I%20have%20a%20day%20%20in%20my%20kitchen,%20where%20I%20play%20Torture%20the%20Toddster%20with%20Pasta.%20%20He%20hates%20pasta.%20%20I%20love%20pasta.%20%20Now%20and%20again%20I%20just%20have%20to%20have%20my%20fix.%20%20He%20doth%20protest%20somewhat%20.%20.%20.%20but%20meh%20.%20.%20.%20you%20can't%20have%20things%20your%20own%20way%20all%20of%20the%20time%20can%20you?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20some%20chicken%20I%20wanted%20to%20use%20up%20and%20I%20had%20found%20this%20delicious%20sounding%20recipe%20in%20a%20book%20I%20have%20entitled,%20%22The%20Gathering%20of%20Friends,%20volume%202.%22%20%20I%20have%20had%20this%20book%20for%20a%20few%20years%20now%20and%20hardly%20cooked%20from%20it,%20so%20I%20decided%20that%20come%20hell%20or%20high%20water%20I%20was%20finding%20something%20in%20it%20to%20cook%20.%20.%20.%20and%20this%20was%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20most%20of%20the%20ingredients%20in%20the%20house%20so%20why%20not??%20%20I%20adapted%20it%20where%20I%20needed%20to%20and%20the%20end%20result%20was%20indeed%20quite%20scrumptious.%20%20(Shut%20up%20Todd!!%20%20He%20begs%20to%20differ.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20original%20recipe%20called%20for%20all%20Monterrey%20Jack%20Cheese%20as%20well%20as%20frozen%20chicken%20tenders.%20%20I%20used%20half%20cheddar%20and%20half%20jack%20cheese%20.%20.%20.%20and%20chicken%20breasts,%20cut%20into%20strips.%20%20I%20shortened%20the%20simmering%20time%20of%20the%20chicken%20and%20it%20worked%20out%20great.%20%20I%20dare%20say%20it%20would%20even%20work%20well%20with%20leftover%20cooked%20chicken,%20disposing%20of%20one%20of%20the%20steps.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20tasted%20quite%20a%20bit%20like%20the%20original%20version,%20which%20of%20course%20.%20.%20.%20was%20loaded%20with%20cream.%20%20This%20one%20is%20just%20loaded%20with%20cheese.%20%20I%20don't%20know%20which%20is%20worse%20for%20you%20.%20.%20.%20the%20cream%20or%20the%20cheese??%20%20The%20bacon's%20probably%20not%20all%20that%20good%20for%20you%20either%20.%20.%20.%20but%20you%20have%20to%20admit%20.%20.%20.%20anything%20loaded%20with%20bacon,%20cheese%20and%20pasta%20just%20has%20to%20be%20delish!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20also%20added%20the%20chicken%20stock%20to%20the%20pasta,%20boiling%20hot,%20%20and%20before%20I%20slid%20the%20casserole,%20covered%20tightly,%20into%20the%20oven%20for%20the%20first%20baking%20time.%20%20I%20covered%20it%20with%20a%20sheet%20of%20foil%20which%20I%20had%20sprayed%20with%20non-stick%20cooking%20spray%20so%20that%20none%20of%20the%20cheese%20or%20pasta%20would%20stick%20to%20the%20foil.%20%20(A%20little%20tip%20for%20you%20guys,%20that%20works%20a%20charm.)%20%20Then%20I%20just%20popped%20off%20the%20foil%20for%20the%20final%20ten%20minutes.%20%20It%20turned%20out%20perfectly%20delicious.%20%20It%20wasn't%20dry%20at%20all.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETodd%20was%20annoyed%20when%20he%20saw%20it.%20%20He%20said%20.%20.%20.%22what%20did%20you%20do,%20think%20to%20yourself%20I%20know%20what%20I'll%20do%20today%20cook%20the%20old%20man%20pasta%20and%20chocolate???%22%20%20I%20just%20gave%20him%20that%20coy%20smile%20of%20mine%20and%20said%20.%20.%20.%20%22You%20know%20you%20love%20it%20when%20I%20am%20a%20bit%20of%20a%20rebel%20darling,%20and%20I%20don't%20see%20any%20chocolate%20here.%22%20%20His%20reply%20.%20.%20.%20%22Hmmph.%22%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20an%20old%20pasta%20hater%20.%20.%20.%20he%20had%20two%20servings.%20%20That%20speaks%20for%20itself.%20%20Methinks%20the%20old%20man%20doth%20protest%20too%20much.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Baked%20Chicken%20Tetrazzini*%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes%204%20to%206%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAn%20old%20favourite,%20easy,%20updated%20and%20delicious.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eserve%20immediately.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
