Baked Macaroni And Cheese

Ingredientes

  • 1/4 pound elbow macaroni
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Dash white pepper
  • Dash red pepper
  • 1 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 tbsp. light cream
  • 1 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 c. diced canned tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Heat butter in top of double boiler. Gradually blend in flour, salt and peppers till smooth. Add in lowfat milk and cream, stirring constantly. Cook for a few min, till mix thickens. Add in cheese and continue to heat till cheese is melted and sauce looks smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and add in macaroni. Add in sugar to tomatoes and add in to macaroni. Pour into buttered baking dish and bake till surface browns.
