Receta Balsamic Onion Marmelade

- Heat the peanut oil in a saucepan over a moderate heat. Add in the onions and allow them to cook gently till they are soft, about 20 min.
- Add in the sugar and reduce the heat. Cook till the onions appear dry and then add in the balsamic vinegar and the grated fresh nutmeg. Reduce the heat to low and allow the onions and vinegar to cook till dry, about 1 hour. Stir occasionally.
- Serve hot or possibly store in the refrigerator for several weeks.
