Secret Recipe Club: Banana Bread Scones

Welcome Back Everyone!

Today is The Secret Recipe Club Reveal Day. This month I was assigned A Kitchen Hoor. Christine has so many recipes! It was difficult to pick one! Christine is a food-thusiast who has been in the kitchen since she was 7 years old. Christine has recipes ranging from African, American, Asian, Cajun to Italian to Mexican....just to name a few:) I decided to make her Banana Bread Scones. I love scones and I haven't made them in a long time, plus I always have frozen ripe bananas in my freezer.

Just a little refresher.....Secret Recipe Club is a wonderful group of bloggers who are split up into 4 different groups. Each month, you are assigned a blog from your group. You head on over to their blog, find a delicious recipe, make the recipe, and share it on your groups reveal day! It's a great way to meet other bloggers, and try new recipes. If you would like to join in on the fun go to: The Secret Recipe Club.

Name of Recipe: Banana Bread Scones

Ingredients:

Preheat oven to 400.

Combine the banana, yogurt and sugar in a small bowl and set aside. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl. Using a pastry blender, cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and then add the banana mixture. Stir just until combined. Turn dough out onto a floured surface. Sprinkle the surface with the mini chocolate chips and knead them into the dough using extra flour to keep the dough from sticking. Pat the dough into a 9 inch circle and cut into 8 wedges. Place wedges onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown and firm to the touch. Cool slightly on a wire rack.

*I made one change to this recipe, I added mini chocolate chips instead of the toffee chips. These scones turned out wonderful and I will make them again, they were great with a cup of coffee:) I think these scones would be great with a Maple Glaze~
