Banana Cream Cake With Strawberry Cream Filling

Ingredientes

  • 3 c. Sifted flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Baking pwdr
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Almond extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp Banana extract
  • 1 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 2 c. Heavy cream
  • 1/3 c. Sugar
  • 1/3 c. Water
  • 4 Tbsp. Creme de banana
  • 1 1/2 c. Whipping cream
  • 3/4 c. Mashed fresh strawberries
  • 1 tsp Grand Marnier
  • 3 Tbsp. Powdered sugar
  • 1 lrg Banana, sliced

Direcciones

  1. Cake: Sift together flour, baking pwdr and salt; set aside. Beat Large eggs till light and foamy. Add in flavorings. Add in sugar gradually. Add in flour mix alternately with cream, beating after each addition till just smooth. Pour batter into two 9" greased round cake pans and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 40 min or possibly till done. Cold on racks and then brush with Simple Syrup.
  2. Simple Syrup: Combine sugar and water in a heavy small saucepan. Bring to a boil over moderate heat, stirring constantly till sugar is dissolved.
  3. Remove from heat and cold to room temperature. Stir in creme de banana.
  4. Strawberry Frosting: Whip cream in large chilled bowl on low speed till soft peaks form. Add in Grand Marnier and sugar and beat on high speed till spreading consistency. Mix in mashed strawberries. Spread this mix between layers and add in sliced banana on top of bottom layer. Add in remaining mix on top and sides of cake.
