Ingredients. Ascorbic Acid keeps the Basil from turning brown from oxidation.
Stem and rinse the Basil. One large bunch; about 4 ounces works.
Briefly blanch in boiling water.
Shock the Basil in ice water. Squeeze dry and rough chop.
Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Use now or refrigerate for use later.
The oil can also be used as a base for pasta sauce, garnishes, pesto, etc.
