- Blanch the basil in boiling water. Remove and shock it under cool water to refresh. Squeeze out the water.
- Toast the pine nuts in a 350 degree oven or possibly in a dry frying pan stirring continuously till they turn golden fragrant. Take care which they don't burn.
- Remove the basil leaves from its stalks and add in them to a food processor. Pulse and begin to drizzle in extra virgin olive oil. Add in the pine nuts, Parmesan and sufficient extra virgin olive oil to achieve desired thick, syrupy consistency.
